Vision In FPPS, our Music Programme aspires to nurture confident, expressive, and thoughtful individuals who appreciate, create and perform music meaningfully. We aim to develop musical skills, but also character, creativity, and a lifelong love for the arts. Through music, students learn to connect with others, express themselves, and contribute positively to their community.
Objectives The Music Programme is designed to: Develop students’ fundamental musical skills in listening, performing, and creating. Foster creativity and self-expression through a variety of musical experiences. Build confidence and resilience through individual and group performances. Cultivate collaboration, teamwork, and respect through ensemble work. Encourage an appreciation of local and global musical cultures and traditions.
Approach Our approach to music education is holistic, inclusive, and student-centred. Students engage in active music-making through singing, playing instruments, movement, and composition, allowing students to explore musical concepts in meaningful and enjoyable ways. We also provide opportunities for performance through our termly recess busking, where students can showcase their learning and grow in confidence.
Programmes Our Music Programme offers students a rich and varied experience through modules such as Singing, Xylophone, Global Percussion, Ukulele, Keyboard, and Cajón. A key focus of these programme is ensemble playing, where students learn to listen, coordinate, and collaborate with one another to create cohesive performances.
