Music and art speak to our emotions. Creativity and expression, like counting, patterning and many gross motor activities, are integral parts of a Farrerean’s developmental journey. At Farrer Park Primary School, our Aesthetics programme provides rich experiences in both Art and Music, where students explore ideas, express themselves confidently, and develop an appreciation for culture and the world around them.
In Art, students learn to observe, create and reflect through the processes of seeing, expressing and appreciating, while in Music, they experience a wide range of genres and learn instruments such as the keyboard, ukulele and percussion in ensemble settings. Through performances, exhibitions and school events, students showcase their learning, build confidence and develop important dispositions such as curiosity, empathy and resilience.
